I received the Hololens dev kit about a week ago and I already feel very comfortable using and programming the device.
I discovered that I can place shortcuts to apps in my living room that will launch apps on the hololens. It dawned on me that my “real environment” is my desktop with the hololens!
The Human Interface paradigm is now complete upset by the hololens. We make the giant leap from 2-dimensional mobile and desktop displays to 3-dimensional “world displays” where users of your app can look around and behind a floating button, text box or icon.

UX (user experience) designers, UI developers, Software engineers alike now have to upgrade themselves to think in 3-dimensions. A challenging task for all involved. We barely got our ducks in a row for 2D user experiences. It took us nearly a decade and half to get where are at for displaying 2D content and we still suck at it sometimes.
In addition to the 3D Spatial UI surroundings, we have Spatial Sound. This introduces a new category of people to the team for programming in 3D environments. We will need Spatial Audio experts along with our upgraded UX designers and 3D developers. They will probably get bundled under the generic “UX” silo.
